Back in Switzerland, Alfred Vogel successfully germinated these seeds, managing to cultivate his first crop of Echinacea plants in the herb gardens of his clinic in Teufen. These original plants are the forerunners of the fresh, healthy herbs we cultivate organically today for all our Echinacea products.

Echinacea herb was treasured by the Native American Indians. In the mid- 1950s, Ben Black Elk introduced Alfred Vogel to the healing powers of this plant, giving him a handful of Echinacea seeds when they parted company.
