Botanical Name:  Myrtus Communis

Myrtle is a pleasant, clear and fresh aroma resembling Eucalyptus but more delicate and less penetrating. With antiseptic and bactericidal properties that have been used for respiratory and urinary infections since the ancient Greeks. It is also known as a traditional herb of protection.

Plant Family: Myrtaceae. 

Method of Extraction: The oil is distilled from the young leaves, the twigs and flowering tops.

This large bush, or small tree, is native to North Africa, but grows freely all around the Mediterranean and as a cultivated garden plant throughout most of Europe. It grows up to 4 meters in height.
